Under pressure from US President Donald Trump, Ukraine has been negotiating with Saudi Arabia to end the war that has been ongoing since February 24, 2022, but Britain and France are outside the negotiation process, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky insisted until the last moment that European allies should be included in the ongoing talks for a ceasefire, but President Trump’s stubbornness forced Zelensky to be part of these negotiations alone. On Friday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told reporters that France and Britain have actively assisted Kiev in the attack on the infrastructure of the Souza pipeline in Russia’s Kursk region on Friday. Zakharova, commenting on the attack, said that we have irrefutable evidence that French satellites and British experts have helped Ukraine with the target coordinates, which enabled Ukraine to attack Russian gas command facilities. After these reports emerged, Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for Britain and France to be held accountable, which clearly means that if the Russian evidence is irrefutable, Moscow will respond forcefully. Moscow has delivered all the secret information to the White House and must have demanded that Britain and France be prevented from igniting the flames of war, despite the fact that Britain and France are not happy with President Trump’s US policy on Ukraine and both countries are blowing up the balloon of Ukrainian President Zelensky. Britain and France have played a dangerous game by helping Ukraine install Russian gas. One response to this could be to spread this war to Western Europe. Most countries in Western Europe, including Britain, are currently facing the worst economic problems and in this situation, the wrong decisions of Britain and France could become a case of great disaster. Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense had said that a metering facility was de facto destroyed in the attack by Ukrainian HIMARS. Moscow has said that all the evidence has been presented to the United States. The United States has informed the negotiators of the two countries in Saudi Arabia about this. It was agreed that they would not attack energy installations, and the agreed draft for the agreement in this regard has also been finalized. It should be remembered that Britain is the only country that supports Ukraine’s full membership in NATO.
Although Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky agreed to a temporary suspension of attacks on energy infrastructure agreed by Moscow and Washington, according to Russian spokeswoman Zakharova, Ukraine has not followed through, which indicates that the negotiation process is meaningless. Moscow is considering a change of government in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, because Ukrainian President Zelensky is opposed to holding elections despite the end of his presidential term. This was the basis on which US President Donald Trump called Zelensky a dictator and called for immediate presidential elections in Ukraine. The anti-Russian attitude of Britain and France is preventing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from ending the war, although Ukraine is the one who will suffer the most, whose economy will depend on financial assistance from Western Europe and possibly the US and Canada for decades. Moscow ordered an end to attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure on March 18 after a phone call between President Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. Russia and the US also agreed on a list of energy facilities. The list of targets not to be targeted as part of the ceasefire earlier this week includes the Souza gas field. Kyiv also agreed to a 30-day partial ceasefire proposed by the US after talks between Ukrainian and US delegations in Saudi Arabia on March 15. Zelensky praised the progress and called it a diplomatic victory, but in practice, the actions of the Ukrainian military are clouding the atmosphere for progress in peace talks.
The Russian Defense Ministry has briefed the media on the details of Ukrainian attacks on Russian energy infrastructure over the past few weeks, which makes it easy to see that President Zelensky is playing into the hands of the two major Western European countries, Britain and France. Earlier on Friday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the Ukrainian president is trying to show that his grip on the Ukrainian army on the ground has weakened, which is a complete white lie. Zelensky has been caught lying several times during the war, but in reality he is a clown who plays the victim. After a gradual change in Washington’s position under the new US Trump administration, Paris and London have emerged as strong supporters of Ukraine. In early March, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron pledged to continue military and social assistance to Ukraine, which has further strengthened fears that Britain and France will create further obstacles in the ceasefire process that Ukraine and Russia have been trying to broker. It is being completely excluded from the ceasefire negotiation process.
