Gaza is not property to be bought and sold.

Hamas responded to US President Donald Trump’s nonsense by saying that Gaza is not a property that can be bought and sold. US President Donald Trump once said that he is committed to buying the Gaza Strip and taking it under his ownership. He also made it clear that he can give parts of the Gaza Strip to some Middle Eastern countries participating in the reconstruction. Hamas condemned the US Trump administration’s statement and called it unworkable. Izzat al-Rishq, a member of Hamas’ political office, said that the Palestinian people will thwart all plans regarding their forced migration. On the other hand, Hussein al-Sheikh, Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, has emphasized that the Palestinian state will only be on Palestinian land. Earlier, Prime Minister Netanyahu of the usurper Israeli state had said in an interview that Saudi Arabia should establish an independent Palestinian state in its country. Netanyahu’s statements are deceptive and the Arab position on Palestine has been fixed and has not changed. He also pointed out that Saudi Arabia’s position on Palestine has been for decades. Saudi Arabia’s position, both secretly and publicly, is consistent. He stressed that the issue of displacement has been rejected by the Palestinians and the Arabs.
Hamas leader Al-Rishq further said that Gaza is not a property that can be bought and sold, but rather an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territory. He termed Trump‘s statement regarding the buying and selling of Gaza as nonsense, saying that his absurd statement reflects deep ignorance regarding Palestine and the region. It should be remembered that the US President, while talking to journalists on a plane yesterday, said that there is nothing left to return to in Gaza, it is a place of destruction. The US may allow some Palestinian refugees to enter the US, but he will consider such requests on an individual basis. US President Donald Trump’s announcement that he has a plan to expel all Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and change the historical, religious and political position of the Middle East upside down, the Geneva Convention clearly prohibits the forcible displacement of civilians for any reason, the issue of US custody of Gaza cannot be separated from the claims made on the territory of Greenland and Panama. It should be noted that, all of them stem from the same root, the concept of seizing the lands of weaker nations emerged from the 1479 Treaty of Alcaucasia, which established the principle that a European country could claim territory outside Europe, nurtured by half a millennium of European colonialism.
A few days after taking office on January 20, the US President hinted at taking control of the Gaza Strip for American control and reconstruction, after which Trump’s statement was interpreted around the world as a new genocide of the Palestinians. This idea is not Donald Trump’s to be fair. In May 2024, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office unveiled a plan that could maintain Israeli control over the Gaza Strip. Through this Marshall Plan, Israel intends to build an important industrial port on the Mediterranean Sea and create a free trade zone here to take control of the economy of the Middle East and Europe. Netanyahu has repeated this idea many times and has convinced that the population of Gaza will be transferred to other countries, including Egypt and Jordan, while both Cairo and Oman have repeatedly rejected this proposal, while the Arab League, under the influence of Saudi Arabia, has also opposed it. Trump’s plans are not supported by the United Nations, in addition to Western countries. It was immediately criticized, especially because the forced displacement of Palestinians is against international law. The crisis arose after US President Trump’s statement on the temporary expulsion of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and the occupation of the strip. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu also said that he supported the US President’s proposal and said that it is a new idea that had not been presented before. It should be noted that the forced displacement of people from the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian territory, is a violation of international law. The restoration of Gaza, whether by Israel, the US or a coalition of Arab states, is neither feasible nor has a moral basis. There is no alternative to a plan for Palestinian sovereignty and Palestine will not accept it. The US is spending money verbally, but the practical basis is very difficult, which must be accepted as soon as possible.
