Several people have been reported killed and injured in an attack on a bus in the Turbat area of Balochistan’s Kech district, bordering Iran. According to a senior Balochistan government official, civilians and security forces personnel were also killed and injured in the attack. The explosion took place near the Shahzai Hotel in the New Bahman area of Turbat, injuring 35 people, who were immediately shifted to the hospital. A Kech police official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the British Broadcasting Corporation that four people, including security forces personnel, were killed and 25 people were injured in the attack. The police official further said that it was a suicide attack. On the other hand, the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the suicide attack in a message sent to journalists, calling it a suicide attack. The statement said that the attack targeted a Pakistani army convoy, but the Pakistani army has not yet made any statement in this regard. The explosion took place in the Bahman area, eight kilometers from Turbat city. Balochistan government spokesman Shahid Rind confirmed the blast and said that the vehicle of SSP Serious Crimes Wing Zohaib Mohsin was also hit by the blast, causing minor injuries.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the explosion in the outskirts of Turbat and expressed regret over the loss of precious human lives. In a statement, he said that the beasts who target innocent people do not deserve to be called human beings. Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti condemned the explosion and expressed deep sorrow and regret over the loss of precious human lives. It should be noted that in November last year, 26 people, including a woman, were killed and more than 62 injured in a suicide blast at the railway station in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan.
