The Iran has launched new air drills in the western and northern regions of the country, including Fordow and Khandab, where there are several uranium enrichment and heavy water facilities, to ensure the security of nuclear facilities. The drills, known as Mayt in Persian, began on Sunday in a fully realistic battlefield environment. The exercises involved the ground army’s air unit, which plays a central role in commanding Iran’s integrated air defense network. They included missile, radar, electronic warfare, electronic intelligence and reconnaissance units, as well as the Iranian army’s air defense force’s deception system, as well as offensive and defensive missions of the air force’s unmanned aerial vehicles. During the drills, the air defense force will ensure the defense of important sites against enemy air and missile attacks. In the first phase of the drills, the air defense force destroyed attacking drones using the Khordad 15 and Talash systems, testing the movement and fire tactics of the missile system. In addition to passive defense scenarios and tactical maneuvering of defense systems, the exercises aimed to assess the operational effectiveness and combat readiness of air defense systems against potential enemy attacks.
Along with tactical and technical performance on the battlefield, exercises were also conducted to disable air defense systems. It should be remembered that there are serious threats of attack from the United States to sabotage Iran’s nuclear program. Israel wants the Biden administration to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities in its final days. According to Iranian state media, these exercises are part of nationwide exercises, the first phase of which began last week in the air defense zone near the Natanz nuclear facility on the orders of the commander of the Air Defense Headquarters. According to Iranian General Naini, about 30 land, air and sea exercises have begun in six western and southern provinces and will continue until mid-March.
